  • Chicago (3/3) - The recently enacted Federal Additional Compensation Program (FAC) provides a $25 weekly supplement to individuals who are eligible to receive unemployment benefits under federal or state law. FAC is payable effective February 22, 2009. Therefore, the week-ending February 28, 2009 is the first week your unemployment payment will reflect the $25 FAC. Payment of FAC will continue through the week ending July 3, 2010 as long as your benefit year was established prior to January 1, 2010 and you continue to be eligible for unemployment benefits. FAC benefits are subject to federal and state taxes. If you are paid FAC to which you were not entitled, an overpayment will be established. An individual may not receive a FAC supplement if they are ineligible for unemployment benefits. YOUR FAC PAYMENT WILL AUTOMATICALLY BE INCLUDED WITH YOUR REGULAR PAYMENT AND IDENTIFIED SEPARATELY ON THE PAYMENT NOTICE. #
  • Illinois (UI) Unemployment Insurance extension answers- "findings" letter When your regular benefits run out, an extended benefits claim (EUC 08) will automatically be established in most cases. Once this claim is established, you will receive a "findings" letter indicating your eligibility for the extension. In some situations where your benefit year is ending, you will receive a notice to report to your local office to determine your entitlement to Extended Benefits. #
  • When to file a claim for Unemployment Insurance in New York: Time: You may file a claim between the hours of 7:30 am and 7:30 pm (EST) Days: Monday to Thursday Fridays/Weekends: Friday - 7:30 am - 5:00 pm Saturday/Sunday until 7:00 pm You can claim benefits for last week 7:30 am til Midnight Sunday - Saturday. Using the TEL-SERVICE Line for State of New York unemployment office: You may call TEL-SERVICE Monday through Friday from 7:30 a.m. until midnight or Saturday from 12:01 a.m. until Sunday at midnight. Calls made Sunday are for the week ending that day. TEL-SERVICE benefit number for New York State residents: 1-888-581-5812 TEL-SERVICE benefit number if you live outside of New York State: 1-888-864-9920 From a touch tone telephone or a telephone with a pulse/tone switch (be sure the switch is set to TONE before responding), call 1-888-581-5812 for New York State residents or 1-888-864-9920 if you live outside of New York State.The system will advise you to choose between the following options: Hearing Impaired Individuals who have TTY/TDD (Telephone Device for the Deaf equipment) may file a claim by calling a relay operator at 1-800-662-1220 and requesting the relay operator to call the Telephone Claims Center at 1-888-783-1370. TTY/TDD users may request the relay operator to call 1-877-205-3119 to certify for weekly benefits. Only callers with TDD equipment will receive service at these numbers. #
